Introducing...Active Sunday!

Hello there Talkers

Today’s post is for the sake of healthy living. Okay, maybe it’s mostly about watering the thirsty mind of the individual reader such as yourself. Yoga, what is it? The basic stereotype that flashes through everyone’s mind usually involves fancy poses that look like they hurt. I did a little research and according to my reliable sources, there is more to yoga than just complicated, body knotting poses.

Yoga, my faithful readers, basically means ‘to unite’ and it is an ancient culture originating from India. From my understanding, it ‘unites’ both the mental and physical state of being by healing them both. There are a whole lot of technical terms that describe those states, but if interested, you can check them out here.

There are many different styles of yoga like Hatha, Guru, Bhakti, and the list goes on and on. Each type has it’s own definition and practice. Now, the benefits of yoga are magnanimous because they include strengthening of the mind, the body (I mean, it can straighten you spine and correct posture), and the spiritual side of you.

You might as well be asking yourself why I’m boring you with all this helpful information. I think it’s time to now introduce what I’d like to call “Active Sunday”. Active Sunday basically is a new activity I will enforce soon in my life where no matter what; I will do something to honour all types of exercises ever invented by man. I mean, you know how Sundays are, slow and dull and depressing (because of school the next day), this is just a positive way to view this horrid day.  I will encourage you too to be active on Sunday, I have a feeling that it will be fun. First stop, I will try out yoga...what a splendid idea!
Till next time, have an active Sunday!
